Solchenberger, Matthias (22 MAY 1886 - 14 JUN 1962)
Funeral services for Matthias Solchenberger, 76, route 2, Athens, who died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, Thursday, June 14, 1962, were held Monday afternoon. The Rev. Ferdinand Timler officiated at the 2 o’clock ceremony at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Milan. Burial was made in the Milan Cemetery.
Mr. Solchenberger was born in Wonewoc May 22, 1886. He was married to Nellie Goodman June 3, 1908, in Juneau County. They lived in Nekoosa for nine years and then moved to a farm in the town of Holton near Abbotsford. In 1924, they moved to a farm in the town of Johnson, where they have lived since.
He is survived by his widow, five daughters, Mrs. James (Genevieve) McGowan, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. William (Leona) Bruegemann and Mrs. Everett (Ila) Schade, Mequon; Mrs. Clarence (Nila) Venzke, Athens, and Mrs. Kenneth (Hazel) Meyers, Germantown; three sons, Harold, Germantown; Lawrence Mequon, and Lester, Athens, 16 grandchildren and a brother and two sisters.
